Meeting Dates and Times for 2008
The schedules were discussed and compromises made - we've made some necessary and wanted changes that everyone needs to be aware of:
- 4th Saturday meetings through October
- 2nd Sat. in November and December
- 3 Hour meetings 11:30a - 2:30p
- (all subject to change as necessary obviously)
Everyone keep their ears and eyes open for opportunities for club appearances. We had a fantastic 2007! We're making a great showing out there. Our festival and meeting attendance and new interests in the club attest to this. Keep up the good work everyone! Your enthusiasm and hard work are definitely effective!

March 8th
Parkside Baptist Church - Denison
We've had a great response from the club members and we're looking forward to our second appearance at Parkside Baptist Church. Club members will meet for dinner put on by the church and then will perform for the church members after the meal. It's a great honor to be asked back. Let's make a good show everyone!

The purpose of our Dulcimer Club is to provide opportunities for dulcimer enthusiasts to meet and share ideas and information, learn new music, and just have a good time jammin'. The club meets the 4th Saturday of each month. A short business meeting is followed by workshops for mountain and hammered dulcimers and a jam session. All stringed instruments are welcome.

Club Jam - January
It was a great time jamming with those that could make last month's 4th weekend gathering. Thank you to such great hosts Jerry and Quinna Lewis. The cookies were fabulous! What an unexpected treat. Thank you again for such hospitality. I think that everyone will make it a point to find more time to do this type of thing more often. Just like the club jam tent at various events creates the opportunity for everyone to gather and jam together. Don't forget, if anyone has an event they think suited for the club to set up a tent for the day, let us know and we'll make it known that dulcimers are the greatest instruments to have!

Winter Festival
Club members Julie Anderson, Sarah Cannon, Annette Lewis, and Laurel Hamrick attended the Winter Festival in Irving this month. David and Annette, Cara and Angie were on the scene promoting David's Dulcimers and teaching workshops. Their band Sweet Song String Band performed on stage during the day concerts. It was a fun time and we had great weather! The jamming after the dinner break and concert were fantastic! Try to go next year if you missed it.

Club Play Dates:
Is everyone enjoying the play dates the club has been having this past year? Isn't it fun! What a good feeling to share music with others and enjoy playing your dulcimer. Hopefully we can keep finding different events to share our enthusiasm about our instruments and club with others. If you know of any events the club may be interested in setting up at, let us know so we can organize a group to set up a demonstration and/or jam tent.

Helpful Hint
What's your 2008 resolution? Mine is to find another venue to play at this year. Yours might be to learn a new song every other month; that was mine last year and I succeeded.... in learning one every three months at least. You might want to pick up another instrument and be a 'cross-over'. What ever the quest is, do your best, enjoy your instrument(s) and have fun! That's what it's all about folks.n.

Newsletter Contributions
This is your newsletter folks. If you have an announcement, a cartoon, a handy trick, input on a festival or event you went to, please send things in. Since not everyone does the same things, it's nice to share experiences and news with others so everyone can hear about them too!
If your interested in getting together with other members between meeting dates to play, it’s been expressed by some that they would entertain getting together to practice. Email to rrvdc@texoma.net and we’ll get everyone connected.
